A few weeks ago, I attended a unique and interesting art class offered by PTN Africa. Basically, they put together amateur art lessons for interested folks at interesting locations all over Lagos. All while you sip on your beverage of choice and interact with like-minded people. Just as advertised – paint, sip & dip.
As a novice who had never painted (well, save for my art doodling in high school), I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I confess I had an awesome time. I loved the location – the Ethnic Heritage Center located on Raymond Njoku Crescent in Ikoyi. The Ethnic Heritage Center felt like a chiller version of Terra Kulture. Plus it had great food – I had the Akara and Fried Yam Chips and it was not only delicious but reasonably priced which is a big plus for this Ijebu woman! 🙂
The paint class also provided an opportunity to meet new people, especially if you attend solo, like I did. Our tutor, Gafar, had an interesting technique for instructing us. At first I was skeptical, but he won me over when I saw my masterpiece.
All in all, I had a wonderful time and would definitely attend another session!
