Another new feature of this blog is street food. Most of my friends and family know that I love street food and I am happy to travel far for good street food. My motto is that I will try anything (well, almost anything!) once as long as I see someone eating it in front of me 🙂
Over the Christmas break, someone mentioned to me that there was a gentleman selling Asun (roasted goat meat in pepper sauce) on Awolowo Road. I love meat and I especially love the flavor and taste of Asun, to be honest, I cannot extol enough, the virtues of the goat and the products we get from it – meat and cheese.
A few days ago, I went in search of the Asun guy. After much driving on Awolowo Road, I finally found him. He is located just before the traffic lights at Keffi Street intersection on Awolowo Road (if you are coming from the Lagos Motor Boat Club). His operation was no-frills, his asun was cheap and filling. I particularly loved that he sold his asun without padding it with onions and pepper as you tend to get elsewhere. Simply well seasoned, fresh and tasty asun.
I love it and highly recommend him. Two thumbs up from me 🙂
